Size and Shape: Marble Angelfish have the same size and shape as other varieties of angelfish. They typically grow to a size of around 6 inches (15 centimeters) in length, with a triangular body shape and elongated fins. The dorsal and anal fins of Marble Angelfish may have a slightly longer and more flowing appearance, especially in the veil variety.
Behavior: Marble Angelfish generally exhibit the same behavior as other angelfish variants. They are peaceful fish but can become territorial, especially during breeding. They are compatible with many other freshwater fish species but may show aggression toward smaller tank mates.
Habitat: Marble Angelfish are native to South America, specifically the Amazon River basin and its tributaries. In the wild, they inhabit slow-moving rivers, streams, and flooded areas with dense vegetation and submerged branches. In the aquarium, they appreciate similar habitats with plenty of hiding spots and vegetation.
Tank Requirements: Marble Angelfish require a well-maintained aquarium with stable water parameters. They prefer slightly acidic to neutral water with a temperature range of 75-82°F (24-28°C). Providing ample hiding spots and vegetation in the aquarium helps reduce stress and aggression among tank mates.
Diet: Marble Angelfish are omnivores and will accept a varied diet consisting of high-quality flake or pellet food, as well as live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia. Offering a diverse diet ensures their nutritional needs are met and helps enhance their coloration.
